Meet our Acupuncturist, Jacqui
Freedom Acupuncture first opened its doors in Comino’s Arcade, Redcliffe in January 2020, unfortunately the heritage listed building had a few leaks and must have flooded at least half a dozen times during those five years, not to mention multiple other issues with the building. This prompted the move to a home based clinic in January 2025.
Jacqui completed her four year Acupuncture degree in 2017, and also has a degree in nursing which she completed in 1996. Having a western medicine background has helped her combine the best of both worlds, and often combines different modalities in her treatments.
Since graduating from acupuncture college, Jacqui has studied many different styles of Acupuncture including Tan, Tung, Zhu scalp, Ear Acupuncture, Trigger Point release, Motor Point Acupuncture and electro acupuncture. Over time she found some styles better for some conditions compared to others. Consequently, she uses all these styles on a daily basis depending on what is being treating, often layering her treatments to get better results, like Distal Acupuncture with local Electro Acupuncture or cupping
In early 2022, she came across a system of acupuncture called Neoclassical Acupuncture (NCA) which other acupuncturist were describing as “the next level”, and so decided to also learn this system of acupuncture. It really is a revolutionary style of acupuncture and a total paradigm shift compared to other styles of acupuncture, in that diagnosis is done solely based on palpating the body checking for tender (sore) areas.
Assuming you have nothing particularly wrong with your legs or arms, have you ever noticed when pressing along the muscles in these areas every so often there is a sore spot? When these areas are treated the results can be quite simply, amazing! This system has been very effective for treating anything from immune problems (e.g. Long COVID), to gut problems (e.g. IBS), and psycho-emotional disorders. An added benefit of this system is usually a lot less needles are required (hello all needle phobes!!), and also usually less treatments.
